Baptisms at the Park!

On Saturday, July 16th, members of the three Latino churches in eastern Pennsylvania--Columbia, Middletown, and New Holland--gathered for a picnic and baptism in Pine Grove Furnace State Park. While many local residents were swimming in Lake Fuller and relaxing on the beach, four converts shared their testimony and were baptized. This scene at one end of the swimming area, accompanied by singing and praying, provided a powerful witness to those who were watching.

Here's a video of one of the baptisms:
We give thanks for the leadership of Pastors Caleb & Christina Acosta who have not only provided leadership in raising up these ministries but who have also spearheaded growing clusters of new churches in Venezuela and Dominican Republic.  This weekend, a group from these PA Latino churches are in South Carolina to encourage a newer Spanish-speaking church there. If you want to encourage the Acostas in their expanding ministry, please pray for them and prayerfully consider supporting them financially (CC 2764 Acostas). Gracias!

How to Be a World-Class Christian

Paul Borthwick's "classic" resource How to Be a World-Class Christian: Becoming Part of God's Global Kingdom has been revised. Purpose-Drive Life author Rick Warren says, "This should be read by every Christian!"

What does Scripture say about God's heart for the nations? What does it mean to be a "world-class Christian?" What will it cost me? How does all this impact my lifestyle? How does prayer influence the kingdom? How can we make a global difference locally? These and many other questions are addressed with a biblical perspective. With 13 chapters and discussion questions at the end of each chapter, this is an ideal book for Sunday School classes or small groups.

How to Be a World-Class Christian is now available from CGGC Publications for $14.00, plus shipping. Contact Kris at publications@cggc.org to order your copy.
